Yes, you do. Fortunately, this is not very difficult. You can do it online at the FAFSA site. Simply go to the site, go to the "schools" section, and submit your information to your new school. The fact that it is in the same state is irrelevant- even if you are simply changing departments (undergrad to grad school) you will need to give them you FAFSA.

Yes, when you apply to a new school some info must be adjusted. When leaving a two- year college to go to a four year college, the total financial aid is adjusted to meet the new tuition. If you are going to a two year college from a four year college then your award will be less and need to be adjusted. Also when filing a FASFA you must tell which school you will be attending so they award will be sent to the right school. Not all schools accept financial aid, so you must update you FASFA to make sure you new school accepts financial aid.

Yes, you must submit a FAFSA application at each new school year OR if you transfer to a different school after a semester or quarter. Your new school determines your financial aid package through the FAFSA application. They will require you to fill it out but it is free! Some schools also require you to fill out a CSS profile which is similar to the FAFSA. However, the CSS profile costs a fee to process. Check with your college to make sure if you just need the FAFSA or both of the financial aid applications.

You do not need to submit another FAFSA application but you do have to edit the one you submitted and add the new school. You do not have to start a new application for fafsa. Simply follow the "fafsa follow-up" link and there should be a section that asks you if you want to edit your application. Once there, it will ask for your school code or a list for you to find your college. You can add various colleges to the application that will receive your FAFSA information for financial aid.

No. The first thing you should do is either go in person or call the financial aid department of the new school you are wanting to attend. You should be able to just look up your current Fafsa form and change the school code. You could also contact your current school as well and make sure that they are aware of the change as well. All in all, it should be a smooth and easy transition.

Yes, you must submit a FAFSA for your new school as well. The FAFSA is required in order to receive any financial aid from the government. It will let you know what loans and grants you qualify for. Each new school you transfer into all require it and some even require an additional financial aid form called the CSS profile. You should ask the financial aid office at your new college what types are forms are required.
