How to get into an ivy league college and switching academic focus from masters to PhD.

I have an average undergrad (English Lit) and graduate (MFA in Creative Wr) academic career. This is a two part question: 1. Is it possible for me to get into an ivy league PhD program if I do really well on my GRE and 2. How do I go about switching from my English/Creative Writing background into a PhD in Social & Cultural Anthropology? Topic: Admissions | Asked by: Anonymous | Asked on 07/23/2012

1) It's certainly possible! All schools take into account a variety of things when considering your admission. If you do very well on the GRE, have an impressive resume, and can prove your value to the school, it doesn't matter where you went to undergrad. 2) A grad program is, for the most part, a fresh slate. You can get a PhD. in a different subject than your previous degrees with a little preparation. Your best bet is to work with professors closely and make sure you're well-prepared for your courses. Good luck!
