Is Monmouth University more of a "commuter school"?

I read somewhere that 40% of students live on campus and that seems a little low. is it tough for students that aren't from new jersey to acclimate to life at Monmouth?

Monmouth U does have a share of commuters, but the vast majority of students there are not. It's also a beautiful school and one with lots of support for students who need it. I have a student there now!

I can't speak for Monmouth, but I just wanted to chime in and say that even schools where the majority of students live on campus can feel "commutery" - it all depends on how active the student body is. I went to a college that had the majority of students live on campus and during the week it was great with lots of activity going on...but come the weekend? It was like a ghost town! Even though students were living in dorms and student apartments, most of the campus would drive back to their parents house for the weekend or take bus trips to Philly or NYC. So don't put too much stock in statistics like that - hoping a Monmouth student will chime in here soon with some real feedback for you.
