My favorite student discounts are the ones at J. Crew, Madewell, EMS, and Apple. Amtrak and some airlines have student cards you can register for that will give you fare reductions.

Normally most stores have student discounts. Any big retailers probably don't, but the littler ones usually do. The stores around the campus are known for having student discounts since that is where all their money comes from. Dunkin Donuts for example has student discounts if you show your student ID, as well as most food stores around the campus. The most discounts you find will be closer to the campus, unless its nationally known that the retailer has the discounts. Those are the most little known student discounts.

Here is a great list that outlines the different types of discounts available to students. A couple tips when it comes to looking for student discounts. Firstly, ALWAYS ask if a company provides a student discount. Many do, just not publicly. Secondly, see if they can stack with other on-sale deals. Lastly, and a bit of a life hack, "lose" your card right before you graduate, especially if it just has the current year on it and not what class you are in. Happy deal hunting! http://www.thecampuscompanion.com/2012/02/16/student-discounts/

Many national chains have discounts. Apple generally gives a student discount. There will also be a lot of stores and restaurants around your university that offer a student discount. Sometimes they will not be very well publicized so you just need to ask. You should get in the habit of asking because the savings can really start to add up. If you're planning on travelling abroad during the school year or summer then international student cards will get you discounts at many museums and can even get you in for free in some places.

If you are in Europe, every social service (trains, buses, museum entry, etc) will be discounted for you, and it will be fabulous. In the states, however, student discounts tend to be a fairly local and school-specific affair. For example, a coffee place near my campus offers 10% off for students of my school, and occasionally has a happy hour for half-priced mocha for us. There are also many shows and movie theatres that give us discounted students rates, which makes going to the movies a little less painful on a starving student budget. Aside from some awesome plane ticket offers (mostly for standby flyers, and you can't have more than a backpack with you), it would probably be wise to call the admissions department at your new college, and speak to a student who works there. They will probably know all the places to go for discounts, from dollar beer at the local bar to free ice cream day.

The best place to ask for discounts is from the local student store. The will frequently order items at a discount. One big category is software. Another is travel. See for example Student Universe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StudentUniverse). Many local stores, especially restaurants, will advertise student discounts. Computers sellers also offer student discounts (Apple or Dell, for instance). Ask the college if they have a listing. Business are usually happy to advertise in this manner.

Movie theaters are known for typically offering student discounts. Many times the restaurants surrounding a college campus will also have student discounts in order to attract more business. Visit the student center at your college, and they will most likely have a list of the businesses in the area that offer discounts to your school.

Microsoft offers a student discount if you follow this link: http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-us/default.aspx. You can also get s discount for Adobe Photoshop CS5 edition making it $199 instead of $499 or more, at https://store1.adobe.com/cfusion/store/index.cfm?store=OLS-EDU#category=/Applications/PhotoshopExtendedSTE&store=OLS-EDU&view=ols_prod&loc=en_us . Depends on what kinds of discounts you want to know about. For books, it is always better to buy and sell online then it ever is to buy from the college store. I personally use Valorebooks.com to buy and sell most of my books saving me easily $150 each semester. For food, if you can, always go off the meal plan and buy at the grocery stores. Do that and you will save a good $200 per semester on food at least. For school supplies like pens penecils paper and the such, stores like walmart and staples can cover most of your needs and about half a college stores prices. These saving all add up to help make life a little easier.

To find student discounts, visit CollegeWeekLive.com. They have a section for student discounts and promotional offers can be sent to you. Also, all major computer makers have some student discounts (I got Microsoft Office 2007 for $10). However, these offers must be redeemed at the maker's website or place of business, not at just any store which carries the product.

All schools have different discounts, ask you fellow students I'm sure a lot of them are aware of your local discounts, usually at pizza shops, fast food places, even local bars and poolhalls. I know chase bank also gives out a very low interest credit card which i still use today as my main card. Also ask your student advisor mine had a list of places around campus.

I believe some golf courses and gyms offer student discounts. Most campuses pass out huge coupon books the first week of school. The coupon books are usually to local restuarants, shopping centers, etc.. They normally pass them out the first week of the fall semester, and the first week of the spring semester.

Apple has a great student discount on laptops ordered online through their website. Greyhound bus tickets are also discounted for students. Some of the best student discounts come from local businesses surrounding a particular college. Restaurants, coffee shops, salons, and hotels near my school had discounts for students and their families. It varies from campus to campus.

General Motors offers discounts for current students and recent graduates. Apple computers gives students discount on their electronics, although that might just be online. Most restaurants in the immediate vicinity of a school usually have discounts. Many insurance companies offer discounts for students with good grades. Travel discounts are also available on most travel related websites. Make sure you have a current student I.D. though, which will be needed to check for enrollment.

For the nerdy student, there are huge discounts for computer-related goods. Dell always used to have big discounts on computers for students. Software is also ridiculously cheap (you may have to prove that you need it for a class). The student copies of several Microsoft products are %90 or more. In my area, all the Chinese restaurants have student discounts for some reason, as do most of the fast food places and movie theaters. Those are pretty common, however. Discounts probably vary greatly depending on where you live. It never hurts to ask, just be sure to have your student ID!

Most places near campuses offer student discounts, and it really depends what local businesses you have. At my school the Chipotle's had free drinks for students, and many businesses took 10% off. Usually there will be a guide to student discounts published on campus which I would recommend seeking out. Student discounts are something that is particular to each campus so you have to wait and see to really find out.

Many stores around your college campus will always have student discounts that cater towards you. These businesses know that students are struggling and they do their best to give you great deals on food, clothing, and much more. My local stores offered free meals, free books, and free clothing sometimes. The best way to find out is to ask another fellow student. It's always great to get free stuff, especially in college. It goes a long way for the business in the future as well, because they hope you will remember them and return to continue using their services well after college. Best of luck. ^_^

Depending on the city you are living in you can find all of the student discounts or free meals on certain days. If you are in a large college town, check out the local student papers or independent papers as they will have the ads of places were they allow student discounts. Also, talk to students who are currently in college and they will tell you of all of the discounts that they are willing to get with a student id. Also facebook and other social networks will have companies that will occasionally have free items on certain days so it is a good idea to keep up with that as well.

They have a short survey about the store (there is a link on the home page at http://www.thegoodlifeoncampus.com ) and get the promo code.
