What happens when I submit my application to a college? How long should it be before I hear back?

This depends on the college. If the college's application policy is "rolling admissions," then you should hear back relatively quickly (no more than two months) no matter what time of year you apply. Other colleges have application deadlines for each term, and render decisions a set amount of time after that deadline. This can create a situation in which you apply for a college in say, November, but since their application deadline isn't until January, you might not hear back until March.

After you have submitted your college application, the only thing left to do is wait! Be patient and check the website to see your status. Usually it will take three to four months before decisions are mailed or e-mailed out to students.

When you submit your application, reviewers from those colleges will look at them and evaluate whether you are a good prospective student for their school. It could take anywhere from 3-6 months for a college to get back to you. Also note that each college has their own timelines.

It all depends on when you submitted it, early or late. It also depends on the college and its requirements. Just be patient. A month or two is normally the shortest time frame. Your answer will come.

After you submit your application, the college reviews your application. They won't start reviewing until after the deadline usually. Some colleges review by rolling basis which means first come first serve. It still takes them a while either way. The college will send you an e-mail of your admission usually. Their website will also post when they will be giving out decisions.

It really depends what time of year you apply. If you send in your application early, you will hear back sooner than if you sent it in right before the deadline. College admissions offices to get overwhelmed with applications in the course of the year, and get back to each person as quickly as possible. Do not be concerned if it takes some time before you hear back.

When you submit your application, and remember everyone is submitting their's too, it goes into a big pile of applications. Each application is reviewed and separated according to the university admissions criteria into smaller piles for further review. Remember also that these apllications are being reviewed by human beings, not computers. Therefore, it will take time for human eyes to read through and go through each application. The process is different for each school, therefore, on a Tuesday morning (that is the best time to call), give the admissions building a call and ask how long it usually takes.

It depends from college to college and from the type of application you used. If you used the early decision option, most colleges will tell you by December first. And for regular applications, most schools will let you know by the middle of March. However, there are some schools that have very quick turn around time in admissions decisions, and they will let you know in a matter of weeks whether you're in or not. The school I decided upon gave me a yes and an offer of a large scholarship in two weeks after I'd submitted my application to them.

The time varies depending on the school. There should be a deadline on when to apply and some colleges do not send out acceptance letters until after the deadline depending on how big the school is and how tight they are on how many students they can let in. Some colleges also will send you an acceptance letter as soon as a month later.

Each University has a review committee that works with each department. Your application (often electronic) is first reviewed by a general committee, and at some large universities this is done by a computer. It is then disseminated to the departments for placement in your particular major choice. Most schools have an admission deadline, so a lot of times you and your friends will get your letters on the same day. You typically find out in the middle of April in the normal academic year.

The simplest answer you need is that it depends on the college, and they all have a deadline that they notify students. If you want to know exactly when the college to which you applied will get back to you, go to CollegeBoard.com, look up their profile, then click on the "Deadlines" tab. It will tell you exactly when they send out their final notifications. You can therefore assume that you will hear back anytime around that date.

Your application goes under review by the admissions committee of the college. The college receives thousands of applications so don't expect to hear back soon. Usually, you should hear back by March or April, but it depends on each school, just go on their website and it should answer your question.

This really depends on the school. I suggest asking before you turn in the application and making a note of that if you apply to more than one college. Also if you did not ask call Admissions and ask them how long it takes and how you will hear back. Some schools do this via email, some via mail, and some even call. It is best to ask when you turn it in, or before you even start the application.

Every college is different, but they generally take about 1-3 months to tell you if you were accepted or not. If you submit your application before the deadline and you do not hear anything from them within 3-4 months I would suggest getting in contact with someone to make sure it was received. Once you get your notice that you were accepted you must decide which college to go to, they will generally send you a form that you must send back letting them know whether or not you will be attending that college.

When you submit your application to college, it is reviewed by a board of some kind which also compares it to other students attempting to get in. They will also take into account your recommendations, awards, activities and past jobs to help determine your eligibility compared to others. Now as cliched as it sounds, good news waits and bad news won't. You will almost always see rejection letters before you see acceptance letters. I received my first rejection letter about two weeks after I sent them all out and got the first acceptance nearly two weeks after that so figure roughly a month.

Typically you will hear back from a college in 4-6 weeks. It has to pass a lot of screening processes and the school ranks everyone and takes as many students as possible.

After you submit your application, the college will have their admissions officers read it. They will evaluate your application and rank with other students who applied. Those who they accept will usually have high scores and great extracurricular activities. It takes quite a long time for them to respond. Usually they will let you know by e-mail or letter your results. It takes at least three to four months for an answer.

The college will put their best efforts into looking over everything you have given them. It might be a little stressful to wait but rest assured that they are not giving a quick glance but a thorough look through. Now, how long until you hear back depends on what college you applied to. Some may contact you within 10 days to a few weeks while others may contact in later months ahead. As long as you have sent them everything you could have sent, try not to stress and be patient.

The institution will call for an interview to finalize the optional subject that you have asked for admission. Now a days you need not wait for the call, but can get online admission in no time. It is easy to search for availability of seats in other colleges, if the opted college is over filled. If you have no scope to find out , please go to an Internet browsing center and get admitted with the help of the instructor there.

It depends on the school. It can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks to hear back from a college. Many schools will publish their schedules for admissions, so if there's a school you're dying to hear from, see what estimates they give on their website.

The admissions process differs for each individual university. Applicants are normally considered by a board that can be made up of a variety of different individuals. The student's academic and personal records will be taken into account, a decision will be made regarding the outcome of their quest for admission. Each university has different guidelines for how long you can expect this process to take. Contact the university for this information. It is generally available on their website.

College applications are reviewed along with transcripts and test scores. The number of students admitted depends on classroom space or a specific program's availability. Most colleges reply within a few weeks depending on the number of applications received and the number of staff members available to review them.

It depends on a few things. First what kind of application it is and when you submitted the application. If you submitted an early acceptance application during your senior year in high school you should hear by December. With a regular application you should hear back by February or March.

When you submit your application to a college, it goes through and admissions process to determine if you meet all the school's qualifications. They look at your grades, your academic standing in high school (GPA), your personal achievements, what you listed as your hobbies, any awards, and they read your entrance essays to determine if you deserve to go to college based on what you wrote and your writing skill. Depending on the school I would expect to wait 6-8 months after you apply.

It varies from college to college. What usually happens at the college is this: Your application is first given a quick review to make sure that you are not obviously a poor candidate in any way. Then, assuming it makes it past the first round, the application goes through several more reviews. Usually each review is more in-depth and rigorous than the previous one. If it makes it through all of them, you are accepted. You should expect to wait about 6 months after submitting your application, although you may be 'wait-listed', in which case you will have to wait longer while the college decides whether they have room for you.

We just went through this process with our son. Every school has set of dates for when they begin sending acceptance letters or acceptance emails. The colleges in our area typically announce junior college transfers after the freshmen are excepted. If you look on your colleges website they should have information on the admissions page about when they begin announcing acceptance letters out.

After submitting your college application, you should check on your admission status online every week or so. The timing depends on when you submitted your application (how close it was to the deadline) and also varies by school. Some schools respond very quickly (within 3 weeks) and others take much longer (3 months). Also, fall applicants will typically take longer to be reviewed because there is a much higher volume of applicants than there is in the Spring.

It all depends on your college. Most colleges usually have a set time period for when they send out acceptance letters. Try to find out when this time frame is and you should get a better idea of when to expect a notification of your acceptance. I hope i helped :)

When you submit your application to a college, they have to review it. Depending on how selective the college is, this may take a few weeks to a few months. If you submit in fall, you should hear back in main spring. Also note that you should not have to send any official transcripts until the college has offered you admission.
