The additional information section was very helpful to me when applying to schools. I was suspended in my junior year of high school, but was all around a really great student, holding student government positions and other leadership roles. In my additional information section, I attached a letter from the vice-principal at my school that was a sort of 'redemption' for what had happened at that time, and assurance that I'm not that type of student. The additional information section is a great way to comment on anything that you may think was unclear when filling out the rest of your application.
Anything that can make you stand out. The more you stand out on an application the better your chances are of getting accepted. List awards you have, prizes, science projects, clubs and anything else that makes you sound special. Even if it seems unimportant to you, it could make all the difference in the application process.
You can use the additional info section on your application to just add in a few things that you might didn't have room for before. This can be extra classes that you did particularly well in, or any extra curricular activities. Some use it as sort of a resume' but I wouldn't recommend this. You have already pretty much touched on everything they need to know. Some students even leave this section blank, and that is OK too. The admissions office won't hold it against you.
This is the place for any information that doesn't fit anywhere else on the app. You should include any information that you feel is important for the college to know, such as unique conditions or circumstances. However, don't use it to try to squeeze in any extra and trivial awards or activities. There's plenty of room for those things on the app and to put it simply, they don't care about any more.
You can include any information you would like in the additional info section of the Common App. Specifically, any information you feel improves your chances of gaining admission to college. That can be an additional experience you didn't have room to tell them about, an additional extracurricular activity, community service, or anything. Its all up to what you feel will strengthen your application.
This is a place for you to share something with the admissions committee that they did not ask you. It can be anything that you feel is relevant to your admission into the institution. Some people put long anecdotes of their achievements, but others just put a quick "Thank you for considering me!" in the box. That box is all you!
It's a good space to use if there's anything unusual about your application, or things you want to explain. Maybe you moved a lot, like a military family might, or maybe you had a rough term while your parents were getting divorced. If there's nothing, though, there's no need to fill it with something that won't add information to your application.
You could use it to add on extra awards or accomplishments that didn't fit or didn't apply to earlier questions. Other things that could go there might be to explain something that could look bad but that you have a good explanation for (poor grades one semester due to a severe illness, etc.). It could be practical information, such as if your family will be moving and you will need to be reached at a different address after a certain date. Also, it could be simply a footnote to something you talked about elsewhere, but the box was too small, in which case you'd put: (see "additional information" for details).

In this section, you may want to include details about yourself that are not in the rest of the application. This could range anywhere from hobbies to other skills that may be transferable. Another possibility is to expound upon achievement or accolade to give the reviewers more insight.
This is the area to put in "extra-ordinary" information. Usually this includes fluent languages that may not show on academic records, special achievements (ex. Eagle Scout, National Honor Society, etc.) If you are including a separate resume, as many do, with your application then you probably don't need to fill in this section. Otherwise you might find it helpful to put it some extra items.
You should include anything that you feel is relevant that isn't on the rest of the application. What is it that makes you an attractive candidate that doesn't show up on the application? Or, if there's something that's on the application or in your background that you want to expand upon. If you were expelled once and it's on your permanent record, you can use this place to explain your side of the story. Really, it's a place where you can say "by the way, you should also know this about me!" Good luck!
You don't have to fill out the additional info part. It's just a space for if you need more space to write about your extra curricular or something of that sort. It's a space for if you have something important to address and you want the college to know. Don't just fill it out randomly because it's not meant for a space filler at all. It's meant for a continuation of something that you may not have the room to throughly write about.
You should include anything that didn't fit in the other sections that you feel should be considered in your application. I would focus on positives. You might want to list additional activities there. Or perhaps expand on an item mentioned in another section. You could also leave it blank if there's nothing you can think of.
In this area you want to highlight your possitive attributes - specifically the one which other areas of the common applicaiton did not address. Perhaps besides your excellent GPA, you want to express your profound love of specifically physics and your desire to further your love of physics at their university. Here is where you express all the intangibles that the rest of the application doesn't pick up.
I would add any clubs or advents I have done. Maybe you put down church events you helped with and went to. Maybe you have done some volunteered somewhere, I would put that in the additional info. This could also be a section where you put why you think you should get into there college. You could talk about what education means to you.
You should include any kind of information that will make you stand out! Have you been really involved with your church over the last several years? Do you tutor kids at your school. Were you in a club, activity, or sport in high school? The more unique you can make yourself appear the better.
The "additional info" section is generally just there for those who may have something to tell the college that there was not a section for on the application. Additional info is short for,"anything that we didn't cover in the application that you feel is necessary for us to know when we consider you for enrollment". If you are questioning it, then you probably should just ignore it. Trust me, you would know if it was concerning you.

That section is for anything that is not mentioned on the application. So, anything you want the university to consider in deciding whether or not to accept you should be placed there. It can be things like extra curricular achievements or work accolades that you have earned.
