Because no where else will you get the opportunity to study Thucydides under a genius; to learn from a master and from other students; to formulate yourself as a human being; to live on a hall with your best friends; to have four years to make mistakes and learn from them with few penalties; to watch your best friend have her stomach pumped after one too many keg stands; to hate Freud with a passion because you find his philosophy to be an unhealthy combination of unsound and sexist; to meet some of the most interesting people in your life; to sit at a professor's table and listen about the time he nearly was arrested in Spain for dancing in a fountain; to push your body to extremes to see if you really CAN read 200 pages and write a 15pg term paper in one night; and to study abroad in places you've only dreamed of. College is awesome, and many people never get the option to go. So if you can, take it and run.

College offers one an education for the future. In order to get a good job, college is almost always necessary. The debt might seem bad, but it is worth it in the end. Also, it provides a social scene to the student. Many people meet their spouse at college as well.

College is important for many reasons. First off, college opens opportunities to you by allowing you to apply for jobs that people without degrees would not be able to even set foot in the door for. More importantly however, college is an experience that helps makes you well rounded and exposes you to experiences, concepts, and people that you may not be exposed to otherwise. Unlike high school, college professors are experts on the topics they expose you to.

It is a proven fact that college graduates are able to make more money in their lifetime than non-graduates. There is a greater number of high paying jobs available for people with degrees. When you enter the working world, employers will look at your educational background. In some fields, work experience can play a bigger role than education, but for the majority of high paying jobs, they will want to see that you have a degree.

College gives you a competitive advantage for better paying jobs. It is also the case that you can graduate high school, become an entrepreneur and make more money than someone who went to college. Theoretically, you could also work your way up the corporate ladder with a high school education and be very successful. Both of these require more determination than getting a college degree and have more room for failure, so it depends on your personality type and resources available to you.

The importance of college is kind of a no-brainer, for one you will gain personal intelligence and growth through the entire college experience, as well as your degree which is something that will help you find work throughout your life. College degrees give you an advantage in the workforce that other potential employees won't benefit from.

College is important because if you want a career than you need a degree. This is an opinion but I believe. I also feel when you go to college that gives you chance to think outside the box instead of taking everything at facevalue. For me I am going to college and love it. It is hard but I do not care because I have goals and dreams for my life and college is part of it!

College is important because most jobs require some formal education. Most people attend to better themselves and increase their marketability to potential employers. The job market is very competitive and it all depends on what field you plan to enter. If you plan to work in a field such as accounting or nursing, it will require at least a bachelors degree or formal licensing. If you decide to choose a field such a truck driver or salesman, it may not require an actual degree.

College offers many benefits if you can manage to stick it out and graduate. College graduates earn more over their lifetimes than those who do not go to college, so there's a financial benefit. Keep in mind that many jobs are not open to you if you do not have a college degree. Furthermore, you can gain skills and knowledge in a wide variety of topics and learn more about yourself in the process. Finally, there's the opportunity to meet people from around the country and the world and network, which can be very valuable when you're trying to get a job post-graduation.

College is important, not only for future career preparation, but also for the ability to learn to think and reason. Future employers want to see your ability to complete something from start to finish. A college degree shows your ability to overcome obstacles,(not flunking out!) face new challenges (doing your own laundry--where's Mom when you really need her?)and take responsibility for your actions (yes I flunked that test because that party was just so cool and I got hungover). So don't go to college just because you think it's your ticket to a $100K+ salary-go for what you'll truly learn.

Advantages for individuals that have a college education are substantially better than for those that have a high school education or GED. Competition for jobs is stiff. For every job advertised, there are hundreds of people applying. It is an employer's market, and organizations have the pick of the litter, so to speak. Employers prefer to hire individuals with some form of college education. Whether it is an associate, bachelor, or master's degree, there is no better time than now to consider improving your knowledge.

For one, it gives you an edge over other job applicants. Employers want educated people, plain and simple. In this job market, you can't afford to not go to college. It's also a great way to learn about life. Make friends for life and all that. It IS a valuable experience, even if that sounds hokey.

College is important for two primary reasons: well-roundedness and money. By studying a diverse range of subjects, you're more equipped to deal with the world after college. It's also attractive to employers. The money reason is plainly obvious. College graduates make several hundred thousand more dollars a year than their less-educated counterparts and are less prone to unemployment.

In short, college is important to get a good job. The long answer is that it's important if you have a particular profession in mind that requires specialized training (engineering, medicine, etc), and a degree with a good grade will put you ahead of the crowd. It's also a world away from high school, and you'll be further refining your professional, written and even social skills (responsibly!). In addition, just the idea of learning itself is very enriching, rewarding, and an achievement in its own right.

While certainly not the only path to a career, a college degree can give you a huge advantage over other job seekers in your field. Moreover, many jobs are only available to candidates who have received specialized training, such as that obtained in college courses. Beyond the academic and career benefits, college is a growing experience for many students that forces one to explore things outside of his or her comfort zone, in turn broadening personal perspectives and viewpoints, leading to a more fully developed sense of self.

A college degree allows for advancement in the job industry. You could be paid significantly more and be offered a more variety of jobs. A degree also makes you competitive in the job market because you have more education, knowledge and skills than someone who does not.

College is extremely important because it allows you to learn the basics in your perspective field. It grants you the opportunity to build the knowledge and vocabulary needed in order to be understood in a professional situation. It will let you learn more about your interests and dislikes. It will also open the opportunity to find employment that may otherwise not be accessible without a degree. Those without college education find it even more difficult to find employment than those with one.

In terms of personal and social development there are many reasons to value the college experience. In terms of job preparation and training, the value of the college degree may depend on the type of job in which you are interested. For many careers, college course material is not necessary (though this is certainly not true of all careers). It has long been suggested that the true value of a college degree lies not in the training it provides, but in the signal it sends to future employers. A college degree signals to employers that a job candidate is reasonably intelligent, somewhat hard working, and is willing to invest in improving her capabilities.

A college education is important because it can provide you two very important things: job opportunities and higher income. College furthers your education and makes you more qualified for a position than someone with a high school diploma. The skills you learn in college will continue to help you throughout the rest of your life.
