The best thing about attending Elon is the beautiful atmosphere you are surrounded with. The campus has all brick buildings and is actually a botanical garden. The school gets state-funded money to keep up with the flowers and such and when it is warm out (and even sometimes when its not!) there are bright and vibrant flowers everywhere you can see! Also, all the paths are brick and there are so many big oak trees! There's lots of squirrels and ducks which are fun to watch and there are fountains all around and two small lakes on campus. It's definitely refreshing to walk outside in the morning to a beautiful dream-like atmosphere. In addition, there are always so many activities going on and you will never be bored if you don't want to be.
I would probably say the male to female ratio and the diversity issue. Elon's population is becoming incresingly diverse but there is still a little way to go. Also females outnumber males 60/40 so when it comes to dating, that's a bit of an issue. In addition to these things, the meal plans will be switching to a system next year that everyone has been complaining about. Overall, it will waste some of your money which is making people upset. We have a lot of dining options here which everyone loves, but the new meal plans will limit where you can eat unless you pay more, and that's not fair.
Yes, This school is so well rounded. I am a double major with Vocal performance and Communications and I wanted a school with a strong performing arts and communications department. I also wanted a school where there were sports teams I could root for and a challenging academic circulum. I liked the idea of a mid-sized school, and also the study abroad rate here is amazing. About 75% of students study abroad at least once before they graduate. It is stressed here to do so and they make it so easy for you if you'd like to. I definitely plan on going abroad more than once!
Biggest influence when choosing this school Reputation
The financial aid process was a hassle, but I eventually received the aid I needed.
Professors are generally Challenging
The night life is Epic
Every student at this school needs Rain boots! I never bought a pair because I never thought I would wear them, but it rains a lot here and since all the paths are brick, puddles are a big issue!
Most students spend their Saturday nights I would say most people go out to Frat parties or to bars but a lot of people will stay in and watch movies with friends. Also there is a bowling alley and a movie theatre within 5 minutes away as well as two malls so there are many different options. Some people will even drive to Greensboro (about 30 minutes) for additional night-life activities.

Another awesome thing is We have a very strong Greek Life system which is for all kinds of people. However, if it's not your thing, you won't be an outcast if you choose not to rush. We do SO much community service here, and we really engage with and make an impact on the Elon and Burlington area as well as some other surrounding places. People volunteer here like it's their full-time job. We have an entire center called the Kernodle center that is dedicated to matching students up with volunteer opportunities. We also have a huge green initiative and have things like biodegradable trash cans and powerLESS competitions to cut down on the electricity used on campus.
Study Hard? Pray? Donate Money? Be very involved and committed to everything you do. Don't do things for the sake of boosting your resume, but do commit to and participate in things you love. Also, keep your grades up! My freshman class average gpa was a 3.96!
I wish I knew That it wouldn't be picture perfect right away, and that it takes time to adjust and make friends.
