Possibly the only art school where you will encounter people from all walks of life: this is no incubator for trust fund babies. You are expected to take all of your courses seriously and to work hard.

Yes, The community was great, I still keep in touch with most of the people I was friends with during my time there. And I feel like it was a truly great place to develop and realize my skills.

Another awesome thing is Massart is in the middle of a developing neighboorhood, and is only a few minutes away form downtown boston. It doesn't matter how much nightlife their is at the school itself: you have the whole city around you.
Study Hard? Pray? Donate Money? Massart is not a trade school: Make sure your portfolio has a good variety of different mediums and techniques. Drawings, paintings, figures, landscapes, sculpture. They are more interested in seeing that you are creative than that you are skill in just one thing.
I wish I knew You should ALWAYS do you work in the studio space on campus: hanging out in the studios with other students, making connections and critiquing eachother's work is probably almost as important as what you'll be learning in class.
