Review of Massachusetts Maritime Academy

My review

The Good:

It provides a thorough education of the Marine Transportation major. The faculty is helpful and able to provide extra help.

The Bad:

The regiment. It is really quite a corrupt 'leadership' program. Dont get me wrong, there are some very good leaders, however, abuse of authority is common

Would I do it again?

No, Think especially hard before you decide to attend. The selling factor for the students is the job placement rate upon graduation, its the getting to graduation that's the hard part, especially if you choose a license track major (Deck or Engine).

About this school

Biggest influence when choosing this school Career potential

The financial aid process is still ongoing and I am currently dealing with it.

Professors are generally Experts

The night life is Nonexistent

Every student at this school needs A Car

Most students spend their Saturday nights As far away from Maritime as possible

Study Hard? Pray? Donate Money? Apply, because it is a great institution, but choose your major wisely and get involved in the regiment (squad leader)

I wish I knew The hidden costs of getting through school, the regiment is corrupt, homogeneity of student body, how lucrative the Business major really was.
