Review of Roger Williams University

The small class sizes provide a relaxed and personal atmosphere for learning. The professors are beyond willing to take as much time out of their day or night to help students understand the lessons. I am a Finance major and am good friends with most of my professors as well as the deans. I was fortunate enough to be part one of the only finance programs in the country that allowed a few chosen students to invest $100,000 of the school's endowment fund. The real-life investing experience provided me with enough knowledge to confidently manage and invest my own money. The absolutely beautiful campus right on the ocean also makes the four year experience enjoyable. Roger Williams University is located about a half hour from Newport and Providence, two exciting places for college students. Our hometown, Bristol, has been dubbed the most patriotic town in the country and is home to the oldest Fourth of July parade in the country. There are plenty of groups and organizations for students to belong to and participate in. Every single building, including dorms, is immaculately maintained. Most importantly, the food is amazing!

The student body is not very diverse, most students are from a similar background. The University is definitely aware of the problem and becoming more diverse every year. The students are not very involved in the athletic programs. Roger Williams University has no football team and has just started a club hockey team. Although the dorms are far better than other schools I have visited, the parking situation could improve. Freshmen are not allowed to have a car on campus and upper classmen have to park far away from everything. Also, on top of a pricey tuition, we have to buy parking permits each semester.

Yes, I made lifelong friends and fell in love with Rhode Island. Roger Williams University prepared me for the real world!

I wish I knew Live in Cedar Housing Freshman year! Take the science core class before all the others. The 1 additional credit from taking the Science Lab will put you before all the other students in the lottery when choosing your classes or housing.
