The best thing about SIU is the atmosphere and learning environment. The school has great acadmic programs with good reputations, but it's relaxed atmosphere and small town feel really make you comfortable and less stressed.
The worst thing about SIU, in my oppinion, is the football team. They don't give the students much to cheer about very often. The Basketball team is usually good though.
Yes, I loved SIU. The academics are 1st rate. The surrounding area is beautifull, with tons of hiking, camping, rock climbing, swimming and vinyards. The weather is usually fantastic. The town is quaint but has a great transportation system and a fun nightlife. It's also close to a lot of fun southern cities, like Memphis and Nashville. Overall just a great, fun, school with a relaxing learning environment and a beautiful campus.
