Review of SUNY at Fredonia

At SUNY Fredonia you become a part of the community. It is small in the number of student in attendance but that is what makes you feel at home. It is a college town where everyone knows everyone and you will never ever feel alone.

Student groups are also very active on campus. There are over 200 student run groups ranging from greek life (sororities and fraternities) to intramural sports to clubs based on your major or other interests. Getting involved in a student group at Fredonia was a life changing experience. You gain insight and knowledge that you may have never thought possible. You gain a reputation on campus and have the ability to share your ideas and insiration with the campus and community through many events throughout the year.

There is also a festival at the end of the year known as "Fred Fest". It is the biggest deal of the academic year. There is a pig roast hosted every year and a party scence which goes all weekend long which ends with a killer concert performed by national recording acts which differ each and every year.

The weather in western New York is awful. The saying "April showers bring May flowers" should actually be changed to "April snow and in May you never know"!

Yes, It is an experience unlike any other. Alumni are very involved in the campus even years after graduating. You can feel pride in being a part of Fredonia and know that your opinion as an alumni still matters and that if you come back to visit as an Alumni there will always be people you know on campus and around town.

The financial aid process went smoothly and I received the financial aid I needed.

Another awesome thing is You will never want to leave once to attend school here. It is an experience you will never forget.

Study Hard? Pray? Donate Money? Fredonia is very big on community service and clubs/activity involvement. Outline this on your application.

I wish I knew I was not prepared for how big the bar/party scene was. It is a pleasant surprise though - trust me, there is always something going on on the weekends.
