The atmosphere at Oregon is amazing. Starting with the professors and staff there is a wonderful feeling that they take care of you and will go out of their way to help you. Every staff member is friendly, and if you want to speak to the President, just walk in his office anytime. Everything about the school is open, and it really makes you feel at home and that you belong.
With that said, that academics are probably the most underrated in the nation. First rate professors, facilities, sports, and students really create a positive atmosphere to learn in and have fun in. Not to mention the best stadium in college football, Autzen Stadium, a brand new basketball arena opening this year, and of course parties that rival UCSB's.
Oregon is a legit school, made up of nearly 50% Cali people(myself included) and in my opinion is a better option than UC's for Cali students.
39k out of state. Other than that, i have no complaints and can honestly say i love Oregon.
