The best thing about Babson is you are immediately immersed into the nuts and bolts of running a successful business. If you're into straight theory classes instead of actually doing the fun work...
This is like a selective art school, except for business. You gotta LOVE business and entrepreneurship from the get-go to succeed here, tough to transfer to another major.
The immersion teaching style: first thing you do on campus is brainstorm ideas for the business you will run in the spring semester.
The bubble: it's not easy to get to public transportation and with such a small school it's hard to socialize with people from other schools (except Olin and Wellesley of course)
The entrepreneurial spirit is contagious -- the general feeling is not "can we do this" but how quickly can we do this. The school is all about execution -- giving Freshmen -- Freshmen! -- a budget...
I can see where this could be a tough spot for someone who doesn't love starting something and seeing it finish -- and turn a profit.
Another awesome thing is entrepreneurial spirit and can-do attictude. Lots of international diversity as well.
Every student at this school needs a humbling experience of some sort.
I wish I knew actually it was exactly as I anticipated.
