Berks Technical Institute is a training school that prepares students to work in a variety of careers. The Wyomissing, Penn., school offers career training in 15 areas including, accounting, graphic design, health careers, massage therapy, and dental and medical assisting.
It generally takes students 21 months if they attend day classes, while those attending night classes can finish the course in two years. At the completion of their programs, students will have earned the equivalent of an associate’s degree at a two-year community college. Students will be prepared for entry-level careers in their chosen field.
Students will study their major area through in-depth classes that provide them with several career options upon completion. For example, paralegal courses include classes in criminal, bankruptcy, personal injury and real estate law as well as legal writing and ethics. Upon completion of the course, students can work as paralegals, legal assistants, law office clerks and as support staff in a law office. Berks Technical Institute also helps students find those dream jobs, providing assistance with resumes, cover letters and mock interviews. The school also forwards resumes to local employers seeking to fill positions.
Berks Technical Institute holds accreditation from the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. Its medical assisting program holds accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
