Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

Founded in 1824, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) is the oldest technological university in the United State. RPI is dedicated to “the application of science to the common purposes of life.” Located in Troy, New York, Rensselaer is well known for its success in transitioning technology from the academic world to the real world. President Shirley Ann Jackson says that Rensselaer has an “environment and community that nurtures, supports, and enables our students to excel in all aspects of their lives.”

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is made up of 5 different schools which allow students to pursue an interdisciplinary education. Students can choose from engineering, science, humanities, arts and social sciences, and the Lally School of Management and Technology. There are over 145 programs available at the bachelors, masters and doctorate levels.
