Good professors and researchers. Tuition is not really high.
Surrounding neighborhoods are below average. Climate is terrible.

I though that Rice University had a really nice campus. It has an excellent academic reputation, and it seemed like a nice atmosphere in which to attend college.
I didn't find the environment to be very diverse. From what I saw, the student body seemed to be somewhat homogenous.
Rice has a top notch educational staff. Of all the schools I visited Rice I would have to say had the best staff, and best opportunity for advancement there.
Rice University while nice, there is not much in the surrounding area. While you attend Rice, stay on the campus. Its Texas and there is little fun off campus.
Rice University has a good Student Life. Students at this college have an assortment of activity choices
The curriculum at Rice University needs to be updated. The college seems to be less advanced than other universities.
Rice has an impressive post graduate program. If your grades are good and you can afford it you should go. If I had the money I would have been there. If I ever got a resume from a rice graduate I...
As a school of architecture Rice is as good as it gets. If it is to expensive University of Houston is a good second choice.
The best thing about Rice are the good teachers and the good sports program. Their baseball team is always one of the best in the nation.
The worst thing about Rice is that the surrounding area can get pretty boring. There is often not much to do besides go to school and watch sports.
Rice has an excellent financial aid package. The campus is beautiful as well. Students here are accomplished and happy and many have job offers before the end of senior year.
It is a large university so you have to work to find your niche. Make sure you join a lot of activities.
This is a good school with a good reputation. I've known many graduate students who went there as undergraduates and were successful.
So, I was considering going there and the school was good. However, some people said some very rude things (which I will not repeat) to me when I was touring. That was a long time ago, so maybe...
Strong campus life and community feeling.
The college system. Immediately upon entering Rice, undergrads are swept into the community of his or her college. Not only does this make for great social life, but it also gives you a support...
The arts and humanities don't get quite enough attention some times because even though there are a lot of students studying these subjects here, Rice is better known for our engineering program. ...
Rice University is a small community that has a unique system called the residential college system that basically serves like a student's surrogate family during his or her 4 years at Rice. You...
I wish our school were more sports-oriented in terms of fan support. Since our school is one of the smallest Division I schools and is not centered around athletics, many students do not attend...
College system instead of Greek life. It makes everyone feel much more included.
Too focussed on science and engineering!
The people, the academics.
The sports, the lack of seasons.
The academic reputation, small class-sizes and quirky student body. Beautiful campus in a wonderful area of Houston.
The weather in Houston can be miserable in the Summer months.
