Established in 1969, the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising - San Diego (FIDM) is a private college specializing in Fashion, Interior and Graphic Design, Digital Arts and Beauty. Both the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and also, the National Association of Schools of Art and Design accredit the school.
Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising – San Diego maintains partnerships with several companies in the fashion, beauty and entertainment fields. It includes representatives from companies such as Fred Segal, Guess, Bloomingdales, Forever 21 and others on its advisory boards. The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising – San Diego actively assists its students with internships and employs several faculty members that are also working experts in their field.
As one of the premier colleges of its type, FIDM alumni have enjoyed great success in their chosen fields. Ninety-percent of graduates find employment in the first year after graduation and an alumnus was even the winner of the Bravo TV show, Project Runway, in season five.
