Being mostly a commuter school the parking has to be the worst part.
The student life is the best thing about the school. There are events and workshops almost every week that are entertaining and helpful.
The surrounding area is a high crime area so I always feel that I have to be extra careful when walking in the parking lots or near the main streets on campus.
University of Houston is right next to Downtown Houston which is great. If you're a business major, there's your future. If you're a performing arts major, Houston is a great place to get started....

I wish I knew The one thing that I wish I had known before choosing U of H is the realization of just how many people commute to school from home everyday. The numbers of commuters are going down a little at a time as U of H provides more on campus living, but knowing this would have helped me better decide on a living situation.
