The campus is beautiful, and student life is great.
the engineering school (which I attended) was secluded from the rest of the university, and students had very few shared classes with non-engineering students
UVA is a really good value. I think it is currently ranked as the number two public university in the US. I would hire students from UVA as they tend to be smart and diligent. The campus is...
It is a very preppy school; there is a lot of pressure for women to be thin. There is a lot of drinking - if you don't drink, then you might feel left out of the social scene, unless you join a...
Beautiful surroundings! Amazing professors and classes Vibrant, outgoing people Fun social scene Excellent athletic facilities Incredibly low in-state tuition Charlottesville ...
The stifling Greek scene The advising system, or lack thereof Parking, or lack thereof Diversity problems such as self-segregation Pretentiousness or na__vet__ among students High...
Great value for the money, and professors that have made names for themselves in their field. I also feel that the surrounding community is an ideal one for students at the undergrad level.
The worst drawback was the student body atmosphere. These people didn't seem to have much of a social life, and yet they aren't especially well known for academics either.
It is a beautiful campus, very scenic. I would love to visit again, everyone was very lovely. The students were helpful and kind I would definitely hire from here.
The campus did look a little dirty, there were a lot of cigarette buds. If you're thinking about there make sure all your prerecs are in order!
My favorite thing about Virginia Main is the campus. It was superb along with the math program.
The people there were very closed minded at the time i was there. Im sure it has gotten better, but still mean people
The thing i liked the most was that students seem happy. I would visit again.
The worst thing about this school is that everything is really spaced out. i would advise a student to go here.
This is a money back guarantee in terms of after campus. Employment is relatively easy to get.
Nothing is as bad as the question sounds. Just a bit of too much student freedom.
It is easy to find a place to fit in there. Most of the professors there are great and the area is a nice one to live in.
Like every college, you are not going to like every professor or get along with everyone. There are some rude people here but the majority are friendly and open-minded.
There's such a diverse range of people, I feel as if anyone can find their group of friends. The campus is huge and you can do whatever you want to do with amazing facilities. Go Hoos!
Too fun so you forget to actually go to class..
The best thing about UVA is the education that you get for the money. It is hands down the best value school in the country. It is constantly ranked in the top 25 national universities and, being...
The worst thing about UVA is the food! Dining halls at UVA are notoriously bad. There are three main dining halls, and each is as bad as the others. When you have schools that are known for...
The grounds and the atmosphere. It's absolutely perfect.
It is NOT easy! Which I guess is actually a good thing overall.
The lifestyle and people on grounds
Bathrooms in the old dorms
It's gorgeous and has really excellent academics. The big time sports venue also contributes to a great college atmosphere.
The price and unwillingness of financial aid to work with students with extenuating circumstances.
UVA is wonderful. Its alums have the most pride for their school of any school I know. Charlottesville is a fantastic place to live both as a student and as a working professional. The school and...
UVA has a reputation for pretentious preppy rich kids. They do exist, but because it's such a big school there are many other people to spend time with - you are not limited to this.
Great academics but also big ACC school, lots of diverse things to do, for a great price.
Can't think of one.
Academics, professors, caliber of students, atmosphere, and reputation. It is a place that will ask you which opportunity you would like to pursue and, as the proverbial southern gent would, opens...
Pricey for out-of-state students - with continued pressure to lower in-state tuition and increase the number of in-state students.
The best thing about this school I would say is the students. Although a cheesy response, it is the best answer to the question. Everyone can become involved in some organization whether it is...
The worst thing about this school is the work load and the safety issues. In high school, I was very lucky that school work came naturally to me and I did not have to study as much as other...
Living in Charlottesville offers a lot to a twenty-something student. There's hiking and camping 15-20 minutes outside of city limits; the nightlife varies from wild, rambunctious undergrads on...
The fraternity/sorority can be a bit much sometimes - bowties to football games? - but they're easily ignored.
